Spécialisé dans les rôles tournés avec la capture de mouvement, il interprète notamment Gollum dans la trilogie du Seigneur des Anneaux et dans Le Hobbit : Un voyage inattendu de Peter Jackson, le singe César dans La Planète des singes, le Capitaine Haddock dans Les Aventures de Tintin: Le Secret de La Licorne de Steven Spielberg et le Leader Suprême Snoke dans Star Wars, épisode VII : Le Réveil de la Force qui sont autant de blockbusters mondiaux.
