Né le 20 octobre 1935 à New York et décédé le 28 décembre 2004, Jerry Orbach était un acteur et chanteur américain, célèbre pour ses talents sur scène et à l’écran. Figure emblématique de Broadway, il a brillé dans des comédies musicales comme Chicago (1975) et 42nd Street, remportant un Tony Award pour Promises, Promises (1968). Au cinéma, il a marqué les esprits en prêtant sa voix à Lumière dans La Belle et la Bête (1991) de Disney et en jouant dans Crimes et Délits de Woody Allen (1989). À la télévision, il est mondialement reconnu pour son rôle du détective Lennie Briscoe dans New York, police judiciaire (1992-2004), qui lui a valu une nomination aux Emmy Awards. Avec son charisme et son humour, Orbach reste une icône du théâtre et du petit écran.
