Deux enfants, Daniel et Sophia, trouvent Nick, un vieillard ressemblant au Père Noël et le conduisent à l'hôpital, là où travaille leur mère. Il dit devoir retourner au pôle Nord pour reprendre son travail. Lorsqu'il découvre que le père de Sophia et Daniel a disparu le jour de Noël, Nick envisage de rester dans cette famille pour lui apporter un peu de bonheur...
