Une nouvelle année scolaire commence au lycée Clearwater, mais le calme ne revient pas. La réserve naturelle voisine, qui abrite les métamorphes, est confrontée à un avenir incertain. Andrew Milling, l'ancien mentor de Carag, poursuit un plan dangereux : il veut vendre la forêt qui entoure l'internat. Avec Brandon, Holly et Lou, le métamorphe puma s'oppose au malheur qui menace. De manière inattendue, la louve des neiges Tikaani offre son aide. Son soutien pourrait s'avérer décisif.
