En route vers l'université, Sarah et sa fille Ruby tombent en panne. Ruby, confiée à une inconnue, disparaît mystérieusement, et celle-ci nie l'avoir rencontrée. La police commence à suspecter Sara. Jane, qui semble vouloir aider, révèle finalement qu'elle veut détruire Sara pour lui avoir "volé" son frère Michael, et souhaite récupérer Ruby pour reformer la famille qu'elle a perdue.
