Katherine, qui vit seule à New York avec son fils Zack, vient passer Noël chez sa mère en Louisiane où elle a grandi. Elle y retrouve un ami d'enfance, Caleb, tandis que son fils fait la connaissance d'un vieil homme, qui prétend être le Père Noël. Katherine refuse les avances de Caleb mais finit par lui céder, voyant sa complicité avec Zack. C'est alors que son boulot new-yorkais vient la hanter...
