Nicky Talbot est une mère célibataire qui vient de perdre son emploi. En pleine période des fêtes de fin d'année, elle se présente au grand magasin Cartwright dans l’espoir de décrocher un poste d’intérimaire et se retrouve à devoir jouer le Père Noël, grâce à l’intervention du mystérieux Harry Osbourne. Bien que terrifiée à l’idée d’être démasquée, Nicky se révèle très vite être un Père Noël fantastique.
