Tout ce que Roy Tucker a gagné en combattant au Viêt Nam, c’est son adresse au tir au fusil. Sinon, c’est un loser chronique qui a été condamné à 20 ans de réclusion pour meurtre. Un jour, il reçoit dans sa prison la visite d’un mystérieux inconnu qui lui propose de recouvrer sa liberté en échange d'un « petit service »… Tucker accepte et se trouve plongé au cœur d’une ténébreuse conspiration...
