Marion Davies : adolescente et chorus girl. Entre eux, un coup de foudre qui a duré 35 ans. Elle voulait être une Star, il lui a acheté un studio de cinéma. Elle rêvait de paradis, il lui a construit un Taj Mahal en Californie. Elle a eu tout ce qu'elle voulait, sauf le mariage. Charles Chaplin est tombé amoureux d'elle. Au cours d'une croisière, sur un yacht de hearst, Chaplin et Marion ont été mêlés à un étrange meurtre. a la fin de sa vie, elle a sauvé son bienfaiteur de la ruine en vendant ses bijoux.
