Andy Brooks est parti à la guerre du Vietnam. Un soir, ses parents apprennent par un officier la mort de leur fils au combat. Ce dernier revient pourtant un jour au seuil de leur maison. Quelque chose a changé dans son comportement. Des meurtres atroces ont lieu dans la région au moment même de sa réapparition.
