Un jour, Hye Lin, la fille de cinq ans d'un pasteur dévoué, Joo Young Soo, est kidnappée. Le pasteur Joo, qui a une foi aveugle en Dieu à ce moment, prie de tout cœur pour son retour saine et sauve, mais celle-ci ne lui est pas rendue. Huit ans plus tard, Joo Young Soo, qui maintenant ne croit plus en Dieu et mène une vie complètement laïque, reçoit un appel. Hye Lin est toujours en vie et est avec son ravisseur.
