Mackin est un braqueur professionnel. Pointy, caïd du ghetto noir, le met sur une affaire en or : un butin de 250 000 dollars en tickets-repas à voler dans une imprimerie. Le coup se déroule comme prévu jusqu'au moment où deux policiers ripoux l'attendent à la sortie. En cheville avec Pointy, ils comptent bien se débarrasser de Mackin et se partager l'argent. Mais on n'élimine pas ainsi un teigneux comme Mackin. L'heure de la vendetta a sonné.
