Simon Maria Kubiena, né en 1998, vit entre Vienne et Berlin. Il étudie la réalisation à la Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg depuis 2019 et a passé un semestre à Paris à La Fémis. En 2023, il se lance dans un Master scénario à la London Film School. Son court métrage Blaues Rauschen (2022) a été primé à la 72e Berlinale. Il développe actuellement son premier long métrage, The Flowering of a Chimera.
